Rotisserie Dino

More parts removed allowing the Dino to be mounted to a rotisserie. There is a huge advantage in doing this. as areas can be addressed that otherwise would be neglected. I removed all the wiring which is a mind boggling job! Even harder when it comes time to put in back in.

Suspension

There is no dirtier job than removing the suspension from the car.  Especially when it hasn’t been off for years or ever.  I’m going to do a complete rebuild with new shocks, bushings, ball joints, wheel bearings etc etc. A arms, sway bars and other parts to be powder coated and other parts will be cad plated either clear or yellow.

Dino GTS #08318

This car was sort of a sad tale.  I bought it in Chicago at Continental Motors, the Ferrari dealership there.  I took my son who was then about 13 to go see it and later buy it.  It was really cool as I had never been to Chicago and the dealer was just unloading off the truck straight from the factory a red F40!  The sad tale began when a number of years later I consigned it to a shop on Santa Monica Blvd. Without my knowledge they sold the car with no title, kept the money and closed up in the middle of the night and fled the country.  After years of litigation I recovered money from the LA bank that was involved in the sale with the dealer and one of the owners in England. A bad memory for sure!!!

Body and Paint

Mel’s car is back at Steve’s now that the parts have been stripped off.  So now we watch the Maestro do his magic in bringing this Dino back to it’s glory.  In the meantime the parts are refurbished, the chrome is done and interior redone.
